A friend at church recommended this bib to me, it's Parents brand and I found it at Wal-Mart for about $5. (Apparently her daughter dumped a whole bowl of soup in this thing and it caught every drop. We haven't gone so far in our testing but thus far it is worth every penny!Here's how it works:
You snap the pocket together.
The pocket sticks out so it catches everything (except for bits of rice and peas and noodles that fly through the air in odd directions).
Once finished you unsnap the bib to wipe it clean without having to dig in the pocket!

Thanks for the recommendation - I'll have to look for that when my baby boy starts eating solids. I was always frustrated w/ my daughter's pocket bibs, because the pockets wouldn't stay open & catch things.
This Bib is especially good for eating out, since it can collapse so compactly. Did you know taht you can roll it and it snaps in place?
Our only problem is keeping the cloth side clean. I like that I can put it in the washing machine, but I don't always want dried on oatmeal mixed in with the rest of the load.
Any recommendations for washing?
My brother and sister-in-law are expecting, so maybe I'll hunt down a few of these for them. Thanks for the tip!
That IS the best bib ever! I thought the pocket ones were clever until I had a baby and had to fish stuff outta there..way too complicated!
